MQHS is a non–profit housing society that provides a range of affordable housing options for residents of the Fraser Valley. They held a contest to redesign their existing logo.

The design requirements for their new logo were:

• 2 colors maximum

• Incorporate the initials MQHS

This was my submission…

Design considerations:

• Used elements from the existing logo to create a simplified version;

• Replaced the figures under the roof with the MQHS initials to represent housing;

• Used a bold font so that it would be still be legible when printed at a smaller scale (ie. newspaper ad);

• I replaced the circular elements in the roof with the hands from the original logo to represent protective handsand;

• Kept the colors from the original logo.

The design made it to the top 3 finalists but unfortunately it wasn’t selected by the judges.
